How big should my hard drive be? PDF Print E-mail

The average user uses between 15 and 40 GB (gigabytes) of space on the hard drive.  Therefore, a 100 GB hard drive is plenty of space for the average user. If you are a power user, you may need as much as 200 GB of space and then switching to a 500 GB hard drive would be a good idea.  It is really best, however, to choose the hard drive by price rather than space since most of you don't need that much space.  But if a 100 GB HD costs $100 and a 250 GB HD costs $150 then obviously the bigger one is the best buy (over twice the space for $50 more).  But prices are constantly fluctuating (usually going down) so every time you feel it necessary to purchase any kind of hardware, it is a good idea to check out the prices first to get the best "bang for the buck" so to speak.  I keep up on prices and I have wholesale distributors where I can save you money on the hard drive you need.
